United Declaration Against Anti-Semitism: "Firm Stance Unified - We Stand United"
The 7th Solingen Kippa Day, an annual statement against Anti-Semitism, has been rescheduled to Monday, September 30th, at 4:30 PM. Originally scheduled for Thursday, September 5th, the event was postponed due to the terrorist attack at the "Festival of Diversity".
The event will take place on Walter-Scheel-Platz in front of the Solingen town hall, as initially planned. The city of Solingen, the Jewish Cultural Community of Bergisch Land, and the Solingen/Ness Ziona Friendship Association are organizing the event.
The speakers at the event will include Mayor Tim Kurzbach, Leonid Goldberg, Gabriela Lauenstein, and Dr. Ilka Werner. They will emphasize their commitment to standing against growing Anti-Semitism, racism, intolerance, and xenophobia. Terrorists seeking to intimidate are also addressed in the event's message.
Male participants are encouraged to wear a Kippa as a sign of solidarity with their Jewish fellow citizens. The traditional religious head covering will be available for loan on site. The event will be accompanied by music, adding to the atmosphere of unity and camaraderie.
The Solingen Kippa Day continues to be a powerful and poignant event, serving as a reminder of the importance of standing together against hate and intolerance. The city and its organisers remain resolute in their commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
