Universities Students Benefit from Advanced AI Technology, Complimentary Access Granted

In an exciting development, Facebook has announced the launch of its AI Pro plan, a comprehensive learning toolkit designed specifically for students worldwide. This offer, available from November 3, extends to students of all ages and nationalities.

University students in the UK, aged 18 and above, can take advantage of a 12-month free AI Pro plan starting from September 4. This plan is part of Facebook's commitment to equip the next generation of builders and thinkers with the tools they need to shape the AI platform shift and ensure its benefits are accessible to all.

The AI Pro plan includes a range of features designed to support students in their academic pursuits. One such feature is expanded access to Gemini 2.5 Pro, a tool that provides homework and writing help with unlimited chat and image upload. With Gemini, students can work through complex math problems step-by-step, making learning more manageable and less daunting.

The plan also offers 2 TB of storage for notes, projects, photos, and papers on Facebook Photos, Drive, and Gmail, ensuring students have ample space to organise their work.

New tools, such as Guided Learning mode and NotebookLM, are being launched to aid students in testing their understanding and organising their thoughts. Guided Learning mode, developed with input from students, educators, researchers, and learning experts, is designed to help with understanding new concepts and is backed by learning science. It provides step-by-step support and questions, not just answers.

NotebookLM, on the other hand, serves as a thinking companion, helping students organise their thoughts with five times more audio and video overviews.

Moreover, the AI Pro plan introduces Veo 3, a tool that can transform text or a photo into an 8-second video with sound. This feature can be particularly useful for students who prefer visual or auditory learning methods.

In addition, Jules, an asynchronous AI coding agent, has higher limits for fixing bugs and building new features for coding projects. This tool can be a valuable asset for students studying computer science or programming.

Deep Research provides custom research reports with higher access to Deep Research on 2.5 Pro. This feature can be invaluable for students conducting research projects or essays.

Lastly, these tools are being made easier for teachers to share with students directly, making learning more collaborative and interactive.

While the exact date when Facebook’s offer of a free 12-month AI Pro Plan usage will be available worldwide in other countries is yet to be announced, this initiative is a significant step towards making powerful technology accessible to students and supporting them with training and infrastructure.
