Unlawful Kiosk Intrusion Resulting in Officer's Injury Through Canine Attack
In a series of events that unfolded early on a recent morning, a 19-year-old suspect found himself in police custody. The suspect, who has a history of numerous offenses and lacks a fixed residence, was arrested around 6:10 AM in the area of Auf dem Damm / Marktstraße.
According to reports, the 19-year-old suspect's behaviour during the incident was aggressive. He allegedly bit a police officer on the arm, insulted and threatened officers, and attempted to spit at another. This behaviour resulted in his arrest. The injured officer was treated at a hospital and was subsequently unable to continue his duties due to the incident.
Two accomplices were also arrested during the same incident. One of them offered significant resistance during arrest and clarification of the incident. Two suspects, armed with bottles, managed to flee the scene.
The 19-year-old suspect was presented to a judge at the Amtsgericht Duisburg on Thursday (17th July) at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office Duisburg. A doctor took several blood samples from the suspect, under the order of the Public Prosecutor's Office, due to suspicion of alcohol and drug consumption.
In addition to the incident with the police, the 19-year-old suspect was charged in court in Duisburg on July 17 because he was suspected of participating in an illegal car race and endangering road traffic.
Furthermore, a witness (17) reported seeing two individuals throwing a manhole cover into a kiosk window. Four suspects aged 15 to 19 were identified and located by law enforcement. The suspects will have to face criminal charges for their actions.
The events have caused a stir in the community, with many expressing concern for the safety of the officers and the general public. The police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
