Unleased Online: Complete 1973 Bataclan Concert of Genesis Now Accessible
In an exciting development for fans of the progressive rock band Genesis, the full footage of their 1973 show at the Paris Bataclan venue is now available on YouTube. The restored footage, which was originally recorded during their tour of the "Foxtrot" album, has been shared by the user "ikhnaton" on the ikhnaton YouTube channel.
The video, which is available in 4k quality, includes the full set of "Watcher Of The Skies", "The Musical Box", "Supper's Ready", "The Return Of The Giant Hogweed" and "The Knife". The Genesis Museum restored approximately forty minutes of the band's performance, and the video has been uploaded as a rough edit with a loose sync due to the missing original Bataclan audio recording.
The audio for the video was reconstructed from three to four different sources, and the individual who undertook this task is thanked for their help. The ikhnaton YouTube channel notes that this is the first time the entire show has been made available.
Meanwhile, Genesis fans can also look forward to the 50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition of The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, scheduled for release on September 26. This release promises to be a treasure trove for fans, offering a comprehensive look at one of the band's most iconic albums.
Whether you're a long-time Genesis fan or a newcomer to their music, the restored footage of their 1973 Bataclan show is a must-see. So, grab your popcorn and prepare to be transported back to the heyday of progressive rock. The full video can be found on the ikhnaton YouTube channel.
