Unlock This Artifact to Simplify Hollow Knight: Silksong Gameplay

Hollow Knight: Silksong, the much-anticipated sequel, was released on Thursday, and players are already uncovering its secrets. One such mystery is the Crest of the Wanderer, an item that significantly alters Hornet's moveset.

In the new area above the church where the game begins, players can find a hut where the Crest of the Wanderer can be claimed. However, obtaining this coveted item isn't straightforward.

To get the Crest, players must first travel to Bonegrave in Bone Bottom. There, they can purchase the Simple Key from Pebb, a local vendor, for 500 rosaries. The Simple Key, interestingly, changes the direction of Hornet's aerial attack.

Using the Swift Step ability from the Deep Docks, players can cross a gap in Bonegrave. Upon entering the Chapel of the Wanderer, they must survive four waves of enemies. After defeating these foes, a path opens leading to the Crest, which can be picked up to equip for enhanced fast attacks during boss fights.

Equipping the Wanderer Crest allows Hornet to perform quicker attacks with smaller slashes, a significant change from her diagonal downward slash. This transformation also switches her tool slots, adding a new layer of strategy to gameplay.

Players can grind rosaries, the game's currency, in the area directly above Bone Bottom. Once they have enough, they can return to Bonegrave to purchase the Simple Key and begin their quest for the Crest of the Wanderer.

For those who have already claimed the Crest, going right in the new area will clear out vines and unlock a shortcut back to the Church. To return to the main hub, Bone Bottom, players can go down the first hole in the Wormways area.

However, reaching the ground from the new area requires a careful descent. Players must drop all the way down to make their way back to Mosshome. Despite this challenge, the allure of the Crest of the Wanderer and the secrets it holds promises an exciting journey for players of Hollow Knight: Silksong.

With six additional Crests to discover, it seems there's much more to explore in this captivating world. As players delve deeper into Silksong, they'll undoubtedly uncover even more intriguing mysteries and transformations for Hornet.
