Arnold & Son Expands DSTB 42 Collection with Two Limited Editions

Arnold & Son, the Swiss watch manufacturer known for its intricate timepieces, has expanded its DSTB 42 collection with two new limited models. The Red Gold Mint Green Edition and the Platinum Ascot Blue Edition are limited to 18 pieces each.

Both variants of the DSTB 42 feature the collection's signature jumping seconds, which are displayed on the dial side. This historical complication, based on John Arnold's marine chronometers, allows the seconds to be displayed in precise, even jumps, despite the A&S6203 caliber operating at 4 Hz or 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour. The counterweight of the seconds wheel takes the form of the Arnold & Son anchor.

The jumping seconds mechanism is fully visible on the dial side, with three solid gold, skeletonized bridges supporting the seconds wheel. The off-center hours and minutes dial at five o'clock creates a harmonious balance with the jumping seconds.

The Red Gold Mint Green Edition features a 42mm case made of 18-karat red gold and a guilloched, PVD-coated dial in fresh mint green. The Platinum Ascot Blue Edition presents a platinum case and a finely textured Ascot blue dial. The prices for the Red Gold Mint Green Edition are 48,200 euros, and for the Platinum Ascot Blue Edition, they are 64,700 euros.

The DSTB 42 also boasts a 55-hour power reserve and a water resistance of 30 meters. The polished hands and the fine bezel, matching the case, emphasize the elegant aesthetics of the DSTB 42. The domed sapphire crystal, anti-reflective on both sides, allows a clear view of the dial and the meticulously finished automatic caliber with a 22-karat gold rotor.

The straps in hand-stitched alligator leather in Cornish Green or Dark Blue and the case-matched pin buckles complete the luxurious appearance of the DSTB 42. Each edition comes with a strap change service, ensuring that the watch can be worn with a variety of styles.

In other watch-related news, Breitling has launched official NFL watches for all 32 teams. However, this information is not related to the Arnold & Son DSTB 42. The two newest limited editions of the Iconik DSTB 42 watch, also limited to 18 pieces each, were manufactured by H. Moser & Cie.
