Unmissable Expositions not to be Overlooked During Gallery Weekend

Gallery Weekend, Berlin's biggest art event, is once again transforming the city into an artistic hub. Happening during Berlin Art Week in September, this annual art fair brings together a diverse array of galleries and artists.

In the heart of Mitte, neugerriemschneider is hosting two exhibitions: Daniel Roibal's "untitled 2024" and Rirkrit Tiravanija's untitled 2024. Roibal's acrylic on canvas work, also titled "Untitled, 2024", can be found in the gallery. Across town, neugerriemschneider's counterpart, located at Christinenstr. 18-19/Haus 9, is presenting Tiravanija's exhibition.

Over in Schoeneberg, particularly on Potsdamer Straße, the epicentre of Gallery Weekend, Schiefe Zähne is showcasing Angharad Williams, a Wales-born multidisciplinary artist. Heidi, located at Kurfürstenstr. 145, is featuring the hyped young artist and fashion designer Akeem Smith.

Setareh Gallery, though not officially part of Gallery Weekend, is making a statement in Charlottenburg with Chinese artist and activist aaajiao (Xu Wenkai)'s exhibition.

Meanwhile, Klosterfelde Edition is putting on More than once - 35 Years of Klosterfelde Edition, featuring artists like Rosemarie Trockel and John Bock.

Visitors to Gallery Weekend can navigate the city using their bikes, making it easier to hop from gallery to gallery. However, attempting to visit more than 10 galleries in a day may lead to art overload.

Elsewhere, Nome Gallery is showcasing the American interdisciplinary artist Kameelah Janan Rasheed, her first solo exhibition following her excellent presentation at KW Institute for Art last year. Dittrich & Schlechtriem is hosting Haley Mellin's first solo show with the gallery.

VIPs and high-net-worth individuals are ferried around in sponsored BMW saloons during Gallery Weekend, adding a touch of glamour to the event.
