Unnamed sources report assassination of previous Ukrainian parliament leader, Andriy Parubiy, in the city of Lviv

Andriy Parubiy, a key figure in the EuroMaidan Revolution in 2013-2014 and the Orange Revolution in 2004, served as parliamentary speaker from 2016 until 2019 and was Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council secretary in 2014.

During the shooting, the ex-parliament speaker was approached by a man disguised as a courier who shot him eight times. The attacker wore a black helmet with yellow stripes, used an electric bicycle, and hid the weapon in a Glovo delivery bag. The perpetrator allegedly fled the scene by bicycle.

The victim died at the scene, and Andriy Parubiy's family and loved ones were offered condolences by President Zelenskyy. All necessary resources were deployed to find the perpetrator, who was later arrested while trying to hide in the Khmelnytskyi region.
