Unprovoked shooting incident on Fremont streets claims lives of two individuals
Drive-By Shooting in Fremont Leaves Two Dead
A tragic incident occurred in Fremont late on Friday, as a drive-by shooting on the 6000 block of Stevenson Boulevard claimed the lives of two individuals.
According to reports by Jose Fabian, a web producer for News Bay Area, the shooting took place in a large parking lot where two people were present. Witnesses at the scene described the incident as shocking.
The police responded to the shooting around 11:12 p.m. and are now asking anyone with information to contact them. As of Saturday, no arrests have been made in connection to the drive-by shooting.
The shooting marks the city's third and fourth homicide this year, according to police. This unfortunate event has cast a shadow over the typically quiet and safe area where the incident occurred.
The Royal Palace Banquet Hall, where the shooting took place, has a history of violence. A wedding there in May 2017 ended in multiple fights, with one man being beaten so badly that he was left in a coma. Despite this, the gathering at the banquet hall on Friday may have been a wedding reception, although the police have not yet confirmed this.
The owner of the banquet hall, Jamal Saddiqi, declined to comment when approached by News Bay Area.
Jose Fabian, expressing his condolences for the families of the victims, stated, "I pray for the families of the victims. It's a sad thing to hear and I really hope that the victims can rest peacefully."
Initially, there was a report of a third victim in the hospital, but this was later found to be incorrect.
Fremont police are urging anyone with information about the drive-by shooting to come forward and help bring those responsible to justice. The community is left mourning the loss of two lives and hoping for a safer future.
