Unreported Blaze in Multi-Story Building Complex, Bremen-Nord
Basement Fire in Bremen's High-Rise Building: No Injuries Reported
A basement fire in a 17-story high-rise building in Bremen's Grohn district was reported on August 28, 2025. The fire was first noticed by callers to the emergency line, who observed smoke rising from the building's basement.
Upon arrival, emergency services, including units from Fire and Rescue Stations 5 and 6, confirmed a fire burning in the basement. The fire department, along with the volunteer fire department Bremen-Schönebeck, faced challenges in extinguishing the fire due to its location in a high-rise building. Crews in breathing apparatus managed to bring the fire under control after extensive ventilation measures were initiated.
The de-smoking process took some time in the afternoon, and the last unit returned to the station around 5:30 PM. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
