In the heart of Arnsberg, Germany, on the evening of August 16, 2025, a shooting incident unfolded during the Jägerfest (hunter's festival) in the city centre. According to the Kreispolizeibehörde Hochsauerlandkreis, the information about this incident was provided by the authorities.

At around 23:42, a man was reported to have fired several shots with a blank pistol in the Apothekerstraße area. The police patrol car crew heard another shot in the same area during their investigation. However, eyewitnesses confirmed that the suspect only fired into the air and did not target any other persons.

The police secured an imitation firearm during the investigation, but the exact location of the secured firearm was not specified. The suspect was no longer at the scene when the police arrived, but was later found and arrested by the police at the same location.
