In the city of Mainz, the police have been stepping up their efforts to maintain road safety and combat noise disturbances caused by speedsters, posers, and tuners. During a recent large-scale check, 53 cars and motorcycles were inspected, with fines and revocation of operating permits being imposed on vehicles found to have technical modifications.

The fines for poser-related offenses can be found on Bußgeldkatalog.org. If posers drive aimlessly within city limits, causing disturbance to others, they may be fined 100 euros. If car posers cause unnecessary noise while driving, they may be fined 80 euros.

Roberto, the police press spokesman, clarified that the police's goal is still road safety, and controls are necessary. He emphasized that the police do not aim to remove vehicles tuned with passion and expertise from the road. However, they will take action against those who cause unnecessary noise and disturbances.

The poser, speedster, and tuner subcultures are associated with loud engines, spinning tires, and loud exhaust noises. Regular "noise terror" occurs on Rheinstraße, Große Bleiche, Kaiserstraße, and throughout the Neustadt in Mainz. Dani, a reader of Merkurist, described the scene in Mainz as taking over without regard for losses.

Despite there being no official poser scene in Mainz, according to Rinaldo Roberto, the city of Mainz cites the police as taking action against tuners and posers. The police control vehicles regardless of their conspicuousness, distinguishing between speedsters, posers, and legally operating tuners.

For the clarification and combating of noise disturbance caused by speeders and posers in Mainz outside of the police, the responsibility typically lies with local municipal authorities or specific city departments dedicated to environmental protection, public order, or noise control, such as the municipal office for environmental protection or the public order office (Ordnungsamt). These bodies handle noise complaints and implement local regulations aimed at reducing such disturbances.

The action taken by the police against tuners and posers was previously reported. Officers found numerous technical modifications on the vehicles, leading to the revocation of operating permits in 28 cases. The action by the police resulted in the revocation of operating permits for 28 vehicles and fines being imposed.

The police noted that such behavior (revving engines and screeching tires) is more likely to be noticed by citizens during the summer months. They encourage residents to report any instances of noise disturbances to the relevant authorities for further investigation and action.
