The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued a warning for possible extreme weather events, advising caution and monitoring of developments in Aachen and several other regions. The west and southwest of Germany experienced heavy rainfall overnight, extending to the west of North Rhine-Westphalia and affecting the Ahr Valley, one of the areas most affected.

Despite the significant rainfall, amounting to up to 90 liters per square meter in about six hours, the situation in the Ahr Valley remained calm early in the morning. It was very quiet overnight, with rain only starting early in the morning. There are currently no reported weather-related emergency deployments in the Ahr Valley at present; the situation remains calm with no incidents despite recent rain.

In contrast, Saarland reported 25 deployments due to flooded basements. However, the storm in the Ahr Valley was not as severe as the 2021 Ahr Valley flood disaster.

The Aachen fire department did not report any weather-related deployments. The situation in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate remained calm as well.

Looking ahead, the storms are expected to continue until mid-morning and ease off by midday. Only localized heavy rain is expected in the afternoon.

No new information was provided about the situation in Berlin, Rhineland-Palatinate, or any other previously mentioned locations. The DWD continues to monitor the weather conditions closely and will provide updates as necessary.
