Unveiled Details About the Anticipated Apple iPhone 17 Air Exposes in Recent Report
The tech world is abuzz with excitement as Apple prepares to unveil its latest iPhone lineup at its special event on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. Pacific. Among the anticipated devices is the iPhone 17 Air, or as some sources refer to it, the iPhone Air.
According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the iPhone 17 Air will be positioned between the base level iPhone and the Pro models in the lineup. It's expected to be approximately 5.5mm thick, making it slightly slimmer than its predecessors.
The iPhone 17 Air will come equipped with a standard USB-C port, a departure from Apple's proprietary Lightning connector. It will also feature a single rear camera with a pill-shaped bump, a design reminiscent of the iPhone 13 series.
One controversial point about the iPhone 17 Air is its choice of processor. While the higher-end iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models are expected to use the A19 Pro chip, the iPhone 17 Air will reportedly use the same A19 processor as the standard iPhone 17.
The iPhone 17 Air will not support physical SIM cards and will require users to adopt eSIMs. This could potentially affect sales in regions where international carriers do not handle eSIM.
Despite not using the A19 Pro chip, the iPhone 17 Air will not compromise on performance. It is expected to have Apple's own modem, the Apple C1, which, while not as fast as Qualcomm's modem in other iPhone 17 models, is known for being power-efficient.
The slim iPhone will also boast a 6.6-inch screen and support ProMotion, offering a smooth and responsive user experience. The slim iPhone will have the same thickness as the iPhone 17 Air, and both devices will have a single rear camera and a pill-shaped bump for the camera.
Pricing for the iPhone 17 Air has not been officially announced, but it is expected to be almost as expensive as the more powerful iPhone 17 Pro, potentially making it a premium choice for those who prefer a more compact device.
