Upcoming 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed Preview Highlights Jaguar-focused Events
The 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival were a celebration of Jaguar's rich heritage and promising future.
Jaguar made a grand entrance at the Festival of Speed with the confirmation of the Jaguar XKR Goodwood Special. The event also marked the UK debut of the Jaguar XKR-S, the company's fastest car in a generation and its fastest series production car ever. The XFR, another powerful addition to Jaguar's lineup, was also on display.
Ex-Le Mans and BTCC racer Anthony Reid piloted an XFR at the Festival of Speed, earning the TAG Heuer 'Most Spirited Getaway' award. The event also featured a Jaguar-centric press preview, providing a closer look at these impressive vehicles.
Yasmin Le Bon, a long-time Jaguar ambassador, was present at the festival. She posed by the E-Type and XFR-S at the front of the main house, looking elegant and beautiful in a long evening dress, despite the weather. Her daughter Amber also joined her at the event.
A photo gallery of the Festival of Speed preview is available, capturing the essence of the event. One of the most striking images is that of Yasmin Le Bon and the original E-Type Roadster, taken by Attick.
The Goodwood Revival 2013, taking place from 13-15 September, promises to be another Jaguar-filled event. More than 30 classic Jaguars are expected to participate. In a special announcement, it was revealed that a new David Gandy Jaguar film will be launched at the Revival.
The 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed was a testament to Jaguar's resurgence. With the new Jaguar XF being an unmitigated success, the British automaker is certainly on the up. Charles March, the event's organiser, needed an overcoat and scarf to join in the festivities, a clear indication of the chilly British weather. But the cold couldn't dampen the spirit of the event, or the excitement surrounding Jaguar's future.
