Upcoming Event: A Comprehensive Guide to the Cannstat Folkfest in 2025, Happening at Wasen
The much-anticipated Cannstatter Volksfest is set to return to Stuttgart from 26th September to 12th October, 2025. Here's a helpful guide to ensure you have a smooth and enjoyable experience.
Opening Hours and Entrance
The festival grounds will open from Monday to Thursday from 12 to 23 o'clock, Friday from 12 to 0 o'clock, Saturday from 11 to 0, and Sunday from 11 to 23 o'clock. The rides will open at 15 o'clock, and the tents open at 11 o'clock on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, or 12 o'clock on Monday to Thursday.
Payment and ATMs
It is advisable to bring both cash and EC or credit cards for payment. Some operators may have a minimum amount for card payments. An ATM is located in the entrance area to the Cannstatter Wasen - between Tal- and MercedesstraΓe (at the height of the crossing to the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle). Other ATMs are also available on the festival grounds or in the tents.
Parking and Transportation
Limited parking options are available at the main entrance of the Cannstatter Volksfest, with parking fees ranging from 2 to 16 euros. Public transportation is recommended, with several bus and train stops within a 10-minute walk of the festival site.
Security Measures
Backpacks and bags are checked at the entrances. For the convenience of visitors with disabilities, a nearby lot with level access to the festival site offers free parking upon presentation of a disabled person's pass with the "G" mark.
Entertainment for Children
Children can enjoy a wide range of attractions, including the merry-go-round, mini bumper cars, and the children's railway.
Prohibited Items
Certain items are not allowed on the Cannstatter Volksfest. These include irritant spray devices, pyrotechnics, electroshock devices, blunt, sharp, piercing, and firearms, caustic and coloring liquids, gas-filled balloons, objects with metal-coated surfaces, bottles, cups, mugs, or cans made of fragile or hard material. Smoking is allowed in the tents, but efforts are being made to ban smoking in tents in the future.
Baggage Storage
It is recommended to leave backpacks and large bags at home, as there is a baggage storage container near the Wasenwache - between the Wasenwirt tent and the administrative building of the in.Stuttgart event company.
Reservations
Reservations for tables can be made directly with the respective tent operators, with tables booked for many days in advance of the festival. Prior reservation is recommended to ensure entry to the tents at the Cannstatter Volksfest, as they can reach their maximum capacity.
Pricing
The price for a liter of beer at the Cannstatter Volksfest is likely to be over 15 euros. Fees for each helmet or bag stored range between 2 and 6 euros.
Dogs
Dogs are not allowed on the festival grounds, with the exception of guide dogs.
Strollers are allowed on the Cannstatter Volksfest but are used at your own risk.
