Update from East Hessen Police Headquarters
On Friday, September 5th, at around 12:30 p.m., a collision involving two passenger cars occurred on the federal road B 254, just after the exit for Großenlüder.
The incident involved a VW Caddy driven by a 19-year-old man from Lautertal, who was traveling from Fulda towards Lauterbach. For unknown reasons, the driver of the Caddy veered off the road to the left and collided with a Hyundai driven by a 61-year-old woman from Großenlüder, who was traveling in the opposite direction.
Both drivers were lightly injured and were taken to nearby hospitals for examination. The Großenlüder fire department and two units from Fulda Police Station were deployed to the scene, along with two ambulances.
The collision resulted in significant damage to both vehicles, necessitating the presence of two tow trucks to remove them from the scene. The total damage is estimated to be around 10,000 euros.
The federal road B 254 was completely closed for the duration of the accident investigation, causing traffic disruptions. The road reopened later in the afternoon.
