Urgent Attention: Call for Ethical Responsibility in Society

In an effort to further its commitment to sustainability, CWS Workwear has unveiled a series of new initiatives, including the launch of the CWS Workwear Training Academy and the release of its new Responsibility Report.

At the heart of these efforts is Leonie Biesen, the Sustainability Lead at CWS Workwear. Biesen emphasises that embedding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in the value chain is an integral part of their decision-making processes.

The new Training Academy, set to open in November 2024, is a testament to this commitment. It will offer ongoing employee development through product training, ethics training, and various resources to new employees. Additionally, in 2025, CWS Workwear plans to expand its training offerings with new workshops and a "Train the Trainer" program for managers.

CWS Workwear's approach to sustainability is threefold, bundled into three pillars: Circular economy, Empowerment, and Responsibility. The Circular economy pillar focuses on reduction, repair, reuse, and recycling, as demonstrated in the stories in the new Responsibility Report. The work areas of long-time employees Jenny Majchrzak and Roland Berger, who commute to work together, symbolise this closed loop: used workwear is hygienically processed into reusable professional clothing.

Roland Berger, a veteran employee at CWS Workwear in Neuss, supports colleagues, organises help in daily work, and advocates for inclusion, embodying the Empowerment pillar's focus on fair working conditions, training, and partnerships.

The Responsibility pillar focuses on transparent data, governance, and compliance. The new Responsibility Report gives a voice to the stories of people who embody social responsibility and environmental protection in their daily work. Stefanie Wilhelm, Lead Corporate Communications, states that the faces of CWS Workwear's commitment to sustainability are people like Roland and Jenny.

CWS Workwear has been offering clean, reusable workwear as a service for more than 125 years. The new initiatives, including the Training Academy and the Responsibility Report, are part of their ongoing efforts to make a positive impact on the environment and society. The monthly onboarding program "Sales Rocket" also plays a role in preparing new sales employees for their tasks in a practical way.

By embedding ESG principles in their value chain and focusing on a circular, practical, and resource-saving approach, CWS Workwear continues to lead the way in sustainable workwear solutions.
