Vegan enthusiasts, mark your calendars! A colossal vegan festival is making its way to Berkeley.
The much-anticipated Bizerkeley Food Fest Week is set to return for its fifth edition, extending over a weeklong celebration across the East Bay. The main event, the Fifth Annual Bizerkeley Food Festival, will take place on Sunday, September 7, at the North Berkeley BART Station.
Local vegan entrepreneur Erika Hazel, also known as The Bizerkeley Vegan, is the main organiser of this exciting event. The festivities will feature a diverse range of activities, including food tastings, panel discussions, and social mixers, all aimed at promoting plant-based living and supporting a good cause.
On September 5, a Plant Fare Fireside Chat Panel will occur at The Butcher's Son, Berkeley. The panel will bring together industry leaders and influencers to discuss the future of plant-based dining. El Compa Vegano and Fungi Foods are among the food headliners for the festival, with attendees able to sample dishes from vendors such as Cocobreeze Caribbean Restaurant, Donnas Tamales, Hodo Foods, and more.
The festival will also feature a large marketplace, offering artisan crafts, fashion, wellness services, and festival merchandise. The Wellness Zone will host organisations like Azure Sky Chiropractic and Sage Against the Disease Acupuncture. For those looking to unwind, a dedicated Beer Garden & Wine Down Lounge will offer refreshments from Faction Brewing, Tessier Winery, and Traveling Bird House.
The Main Festival Day on September 7 will be filled with exciting activities, including a Vegan Mac & Cheese Tasting Competition at Travelin' Joe Espresso, Berkeley. The day will also see a Vendor Pre-Order & Wristband Pick-Up at North Berkeley BART Station.
Proceeds from the festival will benefit California Pit Bull Rescue, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the welfare and rehabilitation of pit bull terriers.
Tickets for the festival include General Admission (free with RSVP), Express Entry ($20), and VIP Pass ($75), with tickets available at bizerkeleyfoodfest.com or via Eventbrite.

The festival is expected to attract more than 80 vendors from across the U.S. and abroad, making it a must-attend event for vegan food lovers and plant-based enthusiasts. So, mark your calendars and get ready to indulge in a delicious plant-based feast while supporting a worthy cause!
