Bocholt Fire Department Battles Vehicle Fire on Schloßallee

On Saturday evening at 19:53, the Bocholt Fire Department was called to a vehicle fire on Schloßallee. Upon arrival, they found a tow truck fully engulfed in flames, with the adjacent green strip also ablaze.

The fire department deployed 10 personnel and 4 vehicles to fight the blaze. They used heavy breathing apparatus and a C-jet nozzle in their efforts to extinguish the fire, but unfortunately, their actions were not successful with water.

The source of the fire in the tow truck could not be contained with the driver's attempts to extinguish it using a fire extinguisher. The flames spread to the surrounding area, necessitating the involvement of the lower water authority of the Borken district and the Bocholt city ordinance office due to the use of water.

The affected area was treated with an oil-binding agent to prevent further spread of the fire. The police provided support on site, and the driver of the tow truck was able to stop the vehicle and escape unharmed, thanks to the attentive cyclists who alerted him to the fire.

A contracted disposal company will collect and dispose of the contaminated material. For inquiries, contact Julian Busch at the Bocholt Fire Department: telephone - 02871 2103-0, fax - 02871 2103-555, email - [email protected], website - www.bocholt.de/feuerwehr.

At this time, the name of the head of the Bocholt fire department involved in the incident is not publicly available. The Bocholt Fire Department continued their efforts for approximately 2.5 hours before the fire was brought under control.

The Bocholt Fire Department remains dedicated to the safety and well-being of the community, and we extend our gratitude to the attentive cyclists and the quick response of the fire department in this incident.
