A collision on the A2 towards Hannover resulted in a Renault Twingo catching fire, causing traffic disruptions and injuries to the driver and passenger. The incident took place between the Vlotho West exit and the Bad Oeynhausen interchange around 09:00.

The 26-year-old driver of the Renault Twingo and his 27-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries. The responsible police department for the accident is the police of the district Minden-Lübbecke (Kreispolizei Minden-Lübbecke).

Immediately following the incident, traffic was rerouted via the shoulder and right lane past the accident site. Smoke from the fire crossed onto the opposite lane, causing it to be closed for approximately 20 minutes. The lane was fully reopened around 11:00.
