Vehicle Inflame on the Expressway
On the evening of May 20, 2025, the Schwelm Fire Department responded to a car fire on the A1 motorway towards Bremen. The incident occurred at approximately 20:28, with a column of smoke visible during the approach.
Upon arrival, the car was fully ablaze, and burning fuel was running across the lanes, necessitating additional personnel. The first arriving group leader escalated the incident, and the full-time watch crew, the incident command team, and the city and Winterberg fire fighting units were deployed.
Fortunately, no one was inside the vehicle at the time of the fire. The Schwelm Fire Department had 21 personnel on site to extinguish the blaze.
