Vehicles Impletus under Arcing Structure: Commuter Shuttle and Diversionary Traffic on Suspended Railcourse
In an unusual incident on Tuesday afternoon, a flatbed truck got stuck under the U-Bahn U3 bridge at Kellinghusenstraße in Hamburg. According to police reports, no one was injured in the incident.
The police's situation center confirmed the incident, and the fire department was called in to attend to the truck. The truck may have caused damage to the bridge, as it was too high for the structure, but a structural engineer has been commissioned to assess the extent of the damage.
The incident caused disruptions in the traffic of line 3 of the Hamburg Hochbahn at the Kellinghusenstraße station. As a result, one of the two U-Bahn tracks is still passable, and a shuttle service between the Kellinghusenstraße and Saarlandstraße stations has been set up temporarily. The Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV) started a taxi and bus replacement service to ensure smooth travel for passengers.
Despite the incident, the HVV expects the operation on the U3 to run smoothly again from the start of service on Wednesday morning. Fortunately, there were no major disruptions in road traffic due to the incident.
The truck was still stuck in the evening, and hydraulic oil from the truck leaked at the scene. The identity of the company or person transporting the truck is not provided in the available sources.
The police are currently investigating the incident, and more information will be released as it becomes available. Passengers are advised to check the latest updates on the Hamburg Hochbahn website or social media channels for the most accurate information regarding the U3 service.
