Steve Cherundolo, the former coach of LAFC and affectionately known as the "Mayor of Hannover", has put his storybook-style cottage in L.A.'s Little Holmby neighborhood up for sale. The cottage, which was originally designed in the early 1930s by architect Percy Parke Lewis, has undergone a recent remodel and now boasts a two-story main house plus a guest suite atop the detached garage, for a combined total of four bedrooms and four baths in roughly 2,800 square feet.

The cottage's kitchen is updated with custom cabinetry, marble countertops, an apron sink, a La Cornue range, and a breakfast nook with banquette seating. The original beveled windows, polished dark hardwood floors, high ceilings, arched doorways, and decorative millwork add to the cottage's charm. The loft space upstairs has been converted into a one-bedroom, one-bath guest suite. The two-car garage has been finished as additional living space with built-in storage.

The primary suite flaunts a private balcony, a walk-in closet, and a dual-vanity bath with a glass-encased shower. The secluded and hedged backyard has room for a swimming pool.

Enzo Ricciardelli and Shen Schulz of the Beverly Hills Brokerage at Sotheby's International Realty hold the listing for the cottage. They are also representing the sale of another featured listing, "The Indigo at Vie L'Ven: Turnkey Oceanfront Residences" in Indigo Bay, Sint Maarten, priced at $2,724,800 USD.

Cherundolo got his managerial start in Germany at Hannover's academy system. During his three-plus-year tenure as the coach of LAFC, he became the only coach in MLS history to win both the Supporters' Shield and MLS Cup in his first season. However, he has decided to step down at the end of the 2025 season for family reasons and is moving back to Germany.

The cottage was purchased by Cherundolo barely three years ago for about $4.3 million. It is now listed for sale at a dash under $5 million, about $700,000 more than he paid for the place in 2022. The property in Vail, CO, which was not mentioned as being purchased or sold by Steve Cherundolo, is a featured listing named "A Car Collector's Dream Home" and is priced at $27,000,000 USD.
