Vibrant Blossoms Transform Fields into a Kaleidoscope of Hues
In a heartening turn of events, the annual Blossom Strip Action has once again proven successful, covering an impressive 6500 square meters of land this year. This initiative, aimed at promoting biodiversity, was made possible by the dedication and support of numerous patrons.
The action involved the planting of specially long-blooming seeds along the edges of agricultural areas. A variety of plants, including sunflowers, buckwheat, oilseed rape, and Alexandrian clover, were sown, providing a vibrant and welcoming environment for a multitude of insects and beetle species.
Eric Bindhak, the environmental officer, expressed his delight at the contribution to animal habitats. "Insects, being at the beginning of the food chain, ensure the survival of many other creatures," he said. "By fostering a thriving insect population, we are indirectly supporting the survival of numerous other species."
For those interested in participating in the next Blossom Strip Action, the environmental department can be contacted via email at klimaundumwelt@our website or by phone at (0 51 31) 70 73 86.
