Vienna authorities apprehend vehicles carrying drugs and substantial amounts of money from roadsides
In an unexpected turn of events, a 43-year-old Austrian citizen was arrested in Vienna-Landstraße on Friday evening during a focused police operation. The man, known to the authorities for similar offenses, was found to be under the influence of drugs, with numerous technical defects discovered on his car.
The police officers, who noticed the open trunk of the man's vehicle, conducted a search and found a substantial amount of crystal meth (70 grams) and liquid ecstasy (75 milliliters) hidden within. In addition to these illicit substances, the search revealed 5,600 euros in cash, several mobile phones, notebooks, bank, and credit cards.
Despite the findings, the man refused a medical examination by a public doctor. His dilated pupils and suspicious behaviour were observed by the officers throughout the incident.
Following the arrest, further investigations were handed over to the Landeskriminalamt's external centre in the east. Unfortunately, no details about the man's identity have been disclosed, beyond him being an Austrian citizen.
It is important to note that no witnesses are sought for this incident. The location of the incident was only specified as being within Vienna-Landstraße.
This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking and related crimes in the region.
