Vietnamese Embassy in Laos Celebrates Vietnam's 80th National Day

The Vietnamese Embassy in Vientiane, Laos, hosted a grand reception on August 22, 2022, to celebrate the 80th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The event was attended by high-ranking officials from the Lao Party, State, National Assembly, Government, and mass organizations, as well as foreign guests.

The celebration took place to mark the anniversary of the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on September 2, 1945. Addressing the reception, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos, Nguyen Minh Tam, reviewed the proud journey of Vietnam over the past eight decades since President Ho Chi Minh declared independence.

The Vietnamese people have embarked on a comprehensive renewal process, leading to remarkable achievements in socio-economic development, national defense, security, external relations, and international integration. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people have won historic victories in the struggles for national liberation and reunification.

The special solidarity and close bonds with Laos have been a vital source of strength for the Vietnamese revolution. The two nations have always stood shoulder to shoulder in different periods of history and continue to accompany each other in their national development.

The cultural performances at the reception featured lyrical songs praising the homeland, national pride, and the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. The event also attracted members of the Vietnamese community and foreign guests.

Vietnam has risen to become one of the leading economies in ASEAN and an attractive destination for investors, tourists, and international partners. The country has actively and responsibly participated in regional and global cooperation mechanisms, contributing to peace, stability, and sustainable development.

At the reception, Vietnamese Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Lao counterpart Pany Yathotou, and various leaders of Lao Party, State, National Assembly, Government, and mass organizations, cut a cake celebrating Vietnam's National Day. The head of the Commission for Foreign Relations of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party who attended the celebration in 2023 is Bounpone Bouttong.

Vietnam expresses profound gratitude for the wholehearted support of the Lao people and the valuable assistance of international friends. The event marked the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (2025). The leaders in attendance reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, ensuring a bright future for both nations.
