Viktor Gyokeres Makes Impact at Arsenal Amidst Personal Changes

Viktor Gyokeres, the Swedish striker who recently joined Arsenal from Sporting Lisbon for £63.7million, has been making waves on the pitch, scoring twice in three Premier League appearances after a brace against Leeds last month. However, off the field, Gyokeres has been keeping a low profile regarding his personal life.

Rumours of a split between Gyokeres and his girlfriend, actress Ines Aguiar, have been circulating, but neither party has publicly addressed the matter. It was reported by Portuguese media that Gyokeres ended the relationship to avoid attachments in Lisbon, with Aguiar remaining silent on the matter.

Gyokeres and Aguiar are still following each other on social media, and there has been no confirmation of a breakup from either side. The pair began dating in January 2024, and their relationship was a topic of interest among fans.

Despite the speculation, Gyokeres has been focused on his football, finishing as top scorer in last season's Nations League with nine strikes. He made his senior international debut as a 20-year-old in 2019 and has since scored 15 goals in 26 caps.

Currently, Gyokeres is on international duty with Sweden, as they aim to qualify for the World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the USA next summer. Sweden's group for the World Cup qualifiers includes Slovenia, Kosovo, Switzerland, and one unmentioned team. If they manage to win their qualifiers, it will mark Sweden's return to a major tournament since Euro 2020.

Meanwhile, Arsenal fans have created a new song for Gyokeres, set to the tune of Salt-N-Pepa's 'Push It'. The lyrics include: "He dumped his girlfriend, to play in red and white." However, Gyokeres has not commented on the new chant.

Despite the controversy, Gyokeres has been full of praise for the Arsenal supporters, telling Sportsbladet: "They have been absolutely incredible." The striker's impact on the team, both on and off the field, is certain to be closely watched as the season progresses.
