Violence in the Gaza Strip: 40 fatalities reported from Israeli attacks
Israel is set to take over the city of Gaza on government orders, following intensified air attacks that have seen over 50 high-rise buildings in Gaza City destroyed.
According to Prime Minister Netanyahu, the Israeli air force has been conducting these operations since early September 2025, with the pace of attacks increasing significantly from September 6 onwards. The Israeli army has targeted these buildings, alleging that Hamas was using them for military infrastructure, observation posts, and storing explosives to resist Israeli forces.
The aim, as stated by the Israeli government, is to fully control Gaza City and dismantle Hamas. Prime Minister Netanyahu has also warned residents of Gaza City to evacuate before an "intensive operation."
Meanwhile, the European Union is planning new penalties against Russia due to its ongoing war against Ukraine. Berlin and Paris have proposed new sanctions against Russia, though the specific details of these sanctions have not been disclosed.
As the situation in both Gaza and Ukraine continues to unfold, the international community is closely monitoring developments and calling for peace and respect for international law.
