In a significant development in an ongoing investigation, a 52-year-old man has surrendered to the police following an assault incident that took place on Tuesday evening in Landgrafenring, Offenbach.

The incident, which occurred around 8:20 PM, saw the man allegedly attacking his former partner with a knife, causing injuries to her face. The woman was taken to a hospital, but her life is not in danger, according to the authorities.

The man fled the scene immediately after the incident, prompting an immediate manhunt by the police. The suspect's surrender to the authorities occurred on Wednesday evening. He did not resist arrest.

The suspect was subsequently taken into custody and presented to the investigating judge at the Offenbach District Court on Thursday. Further investigations and proceedings against the suspect are ongoing.

Witnesses to the attack, who may have been two passersby near the scene, have reported themselves to the Offenbach police stations. The police are actively seeking these individuals and any other witnesses, asking them to contact the Offenbach police station at 069 8098-5100.

The injured woman is now recovering from her injuries. The suspect's current location is now in police custody, with his legal proceedings being handled by the Offenbach District Court.

The suspect and his former partner had reportedly met with the intention of having a conversation. However, the circumstances leading to the assault are still under investigation.

As the investigation continues, the Offenbach police urge anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and contact the authorities.
