Visa Rejection Woes Continue: A Reddit User Details Their Heartbreaking Struggle Despite Academic Success, Expressing Frustration with 'I Did Everything Right...'

In a recent turn of events, an Indian student, who aspires to pursue a Bachelor's in Business Administration and Management, faced another F-1 visa rejection. This unfortunate incident follows the student's initial denial in Spring 2025, a decision that was met with a one-year academic gap.

The student's business-oriented family background and long-term plan of starting a business in their home country have influenced their choice of studying Business Administration. However, the student's visa applications have been met with various hurdles, the most common being insufficient demonstration of strong ties to their home country.

The student's mother, a successful entrepreneur with several retail businesses in cosmetics and jewelry, has offered to cover their living expenses. Yet, this has not been enough to convince the visa officers of the student's commitment to return to India after studies.

The student's choice of studying in the U.S. has been questioned by some, given the high visa denial rates and current issues. Yet, the student emphasises the wide career opportunities a BBA degree could offer in the global job market.

In an attempt to strengthen their case, the student retook the SAT and cleared an English proficiency test for the second F-1 visa interview on July 16, 2025. Despite these efforts, the student was again denied the visa.

The repeated denials highlight the importance of demonstrating strong ties to one's home country and having clear post-graduation plans. Visa officers must be convinced that the applicant intends to return to their home country after studies, and vague or unconvincing statements of purpose can undermine applications.

Preparing a well-articulated statement of purpose that clearly connects study goals to future career plans and home-country prospects can help mitigate repeated denials. Moreover, applicants should ensure their application forms are complete and free of errors, and provide sufficient financial evidence to cover tuition and living expenses.

As the student continues their journey, they join many others who have faced similar challenges in pursuing their dreams of studying abroad. The journey is not easy, but with persistence and a well-prepared application, the hope remains that the student will eventually secure their F-1 visa and embark on their educational journey in the U.S.

  1. The Indian student, despite the repeated F-1 visa denials, continues to seek opportunities in the global job market, particularly the finance and business sector, driven by their goal to start a business in their home country.
  2. In light of the current challenges and the student's interest in decentralized finance (DeFi), they have begun to explore alternative educational platforms offering education and self-development in this area, a trend increasingly popular in the technology market.
  3. Amidst the uncertainties and delays, the student remains optimistic about their future, and occasionally indulges in general news and casino and gambling entertainment, as a form of stress relief and a reminder of the freedom that may await once their visa status is resolved.
