Warnings issued by Netanyahu to Gaza residents, urging them to leave their homes
Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has announced plans for a ground invasion of Gaza City, warning that the operation will be the start of a main, intense phase. The Israeli forces are currently organising and deploying for the invasion, according to Netanyahu's office.
During a visit to the Israeli Air Force command center, Netanyahu stated that the destruction of buildings in Gaza City over the past two days is just the beginning of this main, intense operation. Approximately one million people were recently in Gaza City, and the ongoing events are having a significant impact on the civilian population.
The current situation of the civilian population in Gaza City is already catastrophic, according to aid organisations. The number of Palestinians leaving Gaza City is increasing, with Netanyahu stating that around 100,000 Palestinians have left the area so far.
The United Nations organisation aims to ensure the provision of food, water, medicine, and other essential supplies to the civilian population during the planned military occupation of Gaza City. They also aim to facilitate significantly improved access for humanitarian aid amid the catastrophic conditions. However, aid organisations are concerned about the potential worsening of the situation for the civilian population.
The military occupation of Gaza City may lead to additional displacement of Palestinians, and the ongoing events may impact the remaining civilian population. The UN and aid organisations are urging Israel to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of the civilian population during the planned ground invasion.
Netanyahu has also urged Gaza City residents to flee ahead of the planned takeover of the area. The Israeli government's military occupation of Gaza City may further exacerbate the current crisis, and the international community is closely monitoring the situation.
