The Latvian Nature Fund is currently providing a live stream of a bird nest, but viewers have been left guessing what's happening inside due to the covered camera lens. This issue arose in 2023, when one of the young birds covered the lens, and it has yet to be uncovered.

In a similar event last year, the camera lens was covered for several months. During this time, updates were based on the sounds coming from the nest. The chicks had already left the nest before the lens was cleaned in July of 2023, and the cleaning process did not pose a risk to them.

Interestingly, the camera lens was cleaned in July of the same year it was covered, providing a brief glimpse into the nest's activities. However, if rain does not wash off the covered lens this year, viewers will have to wait until July for another update.

It's worth noting that the bird nests where these events took place were on newly created bird islands in Cyprus. These islands were actively monitored during the bird migration season to remove trapping nets and glue sticks used by poachers.

Currently, the live stream shows a camera lens that may be covered, awaiting a potential rain wash or maintenance. There's hope that rain will wash off the lens, but if not, maintenance will have to wait until July. Until then, viewers can only speculate about the activities in the nest based on the sounds they hear.
