Weather warning for Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Thick fog prevails and the National Center of Meteorology predicts rain on Sunday.
In the UAE, residents and visitors are advised to be mindful of the current weather conditions, as the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued several alerts.
For those with allergies, spending time outdoors may pose a challenge, as high temperatures and potential dust storms are expected. Inland regions will experience temperatures between 43°C and 49°C, while coastal areas will range from 37°C to 44°C. Mountainous areas will have cooler temperatures, ranging from 31°C to 36°C.
The weather bureau has reported fog over Al Dhafra and Arjan in Abu Dhabi, and dense fog is expected in some areas of Abu Dhabi till 8.30am. The current temperature in Abu Dhabi is 32.8°C, with a RealFeel of 42.2°C, while in Dubai, the temperature is 36.1°C, with a RealFeel of 40°C.
The NCM has also mentioned the likelihood of low clouds forming and possible light rain. There is a chance of convective cloud formation over the mountains, which may bring rainfall by the afternoon. The weather will be partly cloudy in the UAE, with some clouds appearing in the eastern and southern regions.
However, the clear skies may be disrupted by dust and sand, as winds will blow at speeds of 10 to 25 km/h, occasionally reaching up to 35 km/h. This may reduce visibility on the roads, and the police have recommended following the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards for safety.
The Abu Dhabi Police has issued a warning about driving hazards on the roads in Abu Dhabi due to the low visibility caused by fog. They have also urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads.
In addition, the NCM has issued yellow and red alerts due to fog in the UAE. The sea will be calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
Stay tuned for updates on these weather conditions, and remember to stay safe and mindful of the current weather conditions.
