In a commendable move towards ensuring player well-being, our website and WinSpirit joined forces to launch the SmartPlay campaign. The primary goal of this initiative was to demonstrate that operators can take actionable steps to support player well-being and raise awareness about Responsible Gambling (RG).

The campaign was designed to educate players about RG, with a focus on making it a part of the casino journey that players care for and want to know more about. This was achieved by combining insight with creativity, resulting in six interactive social media posts that covered topics such as identifying "red flags" and "green flags," challenging common myths, and exploring important RG-related topics.

One of the key strategies employed by the campaign was the use of email reminders, which were highlighted by 56% of players as an effective tool in promoting safer gambling practices. The SmartPlay campaign also encouraged players to participate in a self-check to explore their own gaming habits, reinforcing the importance of self-awareness in maintaining a healthy gaming lifestyle.

Effective communication was shown to resonate positively with players in the context of the SmartPlay campaign. WinSpirit, with its understanding of its community, spearheaded the social media campaign, facilitating meaningful outreach and targeted reminders.

The SmartPlay campaign demonstrated that tailoring RG strategies to individual players can be effective. It confirmed that what works for some players may not work for others, emphasizing the importance of tailoring strategies to meet the unique needs of each player.

The collaboration between operators and independent authorities demonstrated a commitment to promoting safer gambling across the industry. At the start of the campaign, a survey of WinSpirit players revealed that while 63% understood the primary goal of RG, 46% found the details unclear. The SmartPlay campaign, through its educational efforts, aimed to address this gap in understanding.
