Website Targeted by Unusual Surge of Suspicious One-Star Reviews

Our website, renowned for its independent casino reviews and commitment to player safety, has faced an unusual surge of suspicious one-star reviews on Trustpilot. Over 40 such reviews were received in quick succession, causing the rating to drop from 4.2 to 3.9. The incident has raised concerns about organized review manipulation targeting businesses.

Petronela Kontos, Head of our Complaint Resolution Center, finds the sudden influx of suspicious reviews concerning. The majority of these reviews came from first-time reviewers on Trustpilot, with most lacking specific details about the alleged issues or players involved. The reviews were written in English but originated from various countries, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Italy, and France. Despite being flagged, many of these reviews remain live on the platform.

Trustpilot has identified and removed some of the fake reviews, but the swift and coordinated nature of the attack is unprecedented. Our website usually receives between 6 to 19 one-star reviews per month, making this incident highly unusual. This highlights the challenges faced by companies targeted by organized review manipulation.

The sudden surge of suspicious one-star reviews on our Trustpilot profile has raised concerns about accountability on review platforms. While Trustpilot has taken action, many flagged reviews remain live. We call for greater vigilance and stricter measures to combat organized review manipulation, ensuring the integrity of online review systems.
