Weekend Arrest of BPOLI LUD Individuals
In a series of events over the past week, several individuals have faced charges and fines in Germany for various offenses. Here's a rundown of the incidents, focusing on the cases of three foreign nationals and one local driver.
On Sunday, three individuals were detained during temporary border controls at the Neiße rest area on the motorway. The trio, consisting of two Polish nationals (24 and 27 years old) and a Ukrainian (32), were found to be suspected of illegal entry and other offenses.
Meanwhile, on Friday evening, a 41-year-old Polish man was arrested near the Görlitz train station for violating the Residence Act. The man, who had an outstanding bill of 1,050 euros with the Bavarian State Justice Office for property damage, was unable to pay the necessary 150 euros to settle the fine.
The same 32-year-old Polish national, who was detained on Saturday around 4:00 PM at Ludwigsdorf Federal Police Station in Görlitz, had an outstanding 60 euro fine for a traffic violation. Despite paying the fine, he was not allowed to enter Germany as he had exceeded the permissible stay as a tourist and a previously issued residence permit had expired.
The Görlitz Public Prosecutor's Office added the 62-year-old driver's name to the wanted list for a traffic violation, but the entry was removed after the outstanding amount was paid. The man had been driving a Mercedes 300 on the A4 motorway near Görlitz, despite a multi-month driving ban and driving prohibition in Germany.
A more serious case involves a 32-year-old Polish citizen who was arrested for driving under the influence. He was sentenced to an 18-day term by the Saarbrücken Local Court for aggravated theft, which he began serving immediately after his arrest. The competent authority for prosecuting this individual is typically the local public prosecutor's office responsible for the area where the offenses occurred.
