What is the planned opening date for the upcoming metro stations?
The city of St. Petersburg is witnessing significant advancements in its public transportation system, with the Krasnoselsko-Kalininovskaya metro line making steady progress.
Stroygazmontazh, a leading construction company, has been awarded the contract for the next section of the line, from the station "Karetny" to "Suvorovskaya - 1." Work is currently underway, with equipment installation continuing in the tunnel sections and crossover chambers from "Yugo-Zapadnaya" station to "Putilovskaya" station.
The "Yugo-Zapadnaya" station, expected to be completed this year, boasts natural granite walls and floor, and a ceiling adorned with triangular and trapezoidal panels "cut" by luminaires. The station's visual dominant is the mosaic panels in burgundy-red, blue-gray, and gray-blue tones. A glass dome has been installed above the street vestibule, and the building now sports illuminated "St. Petersburg Metro" logos.
The nearby "Putilovskaya" station, also slated for completion this year, will focus on an industrial style. The station's ticket hall will be filled with natural light thanks to large windows, while the passenger platforms will be adorned with arch structures. The cladding of the station consists of aluminum, granite, and amphibolite, resembling black-and-white marble. The installation of curb stones for pedestrian paths has begun, and landscaping of the surrounding area is underway, with a sand-gravel base for paving with natural stone slabs partially completed.
Work is also in full swing at the "Putilovskaya" station, with workers installing fiber-reinforced concrete panels on the walls of the ground-level vestibule. Most of the floor in the ticket hall vestibule has been laid with granite. Specialists are currently engaged in pre-installation, adjustment, and testing of all networks, including engineering and security systems.
The completion of the engineering surveys for the next stretch is scheduled for the end of 2026. A tender for the construction of escalators for the next stretch, including "Bronnaya", "Zastavskaya", "Borovaya", and "Karetny" stations, has already been announced. The next stretch of the line will include "Ligovsky Prospekt - 2" station, integrated with the Moscow-Saint Petersburg high-speed rail terminal, and "Znamenskaya" station, providing transfers to "Ploshchad' Vosstaniya" and "Mayakovskaya."
The progress on the Krasnoselsko-Kalininovskaya line is a testament to the city's commitment to improving its public transportation system, making travel more convenient and efficient for its residents and visitors alike.
