When Wiesbaden journeys to Schweinfurt with a large trunk
In the upcoming 2025/2026 season, German football club SV Wehen Wiesbaden is set to make history as they face 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 for the first time ever. The away game is scheduled for Sunday, 4:30 PM at Riedel Bau Arena.
Coached by Nils Dröge, SV Wehen Wiesbaden has been in fine form, scoring 14 goals in the last five games, showcasing their offensive prowess. The team has also welcomed a new addition to their ranks, Spanish offensive player David Suárez.
However, the team will be missing key players Jan Becker, Florian Hübner, Robin Kalem, Orestis Kiomourtzoglou, and Ben Nink due to injuries. Sascha Mockenhaupt is back in training but his match participation is uncertain.
Schweinfurt, on the other hand, is yet to secure their first points this season, making this encounter all the more crucial for them. The status of Simon Stehle, who has been dealing with muscle problems, remains uncertain for the home team.
Dröge has warned against complacency and emphasised the importance of building up tension and recovering physically and mentally for the league games. He also emphasises the importance of defensive stability as the basis for success.
Following the away game against 1. FC Schweinfurt 05, SV Wehen Wiesbaden will host Schalke 04 in the second round of the DFB Pokal. More news from the South-East district can be found here.
