In a thrilling conclusion to the August competition at the Nyanza Golf Club, Ojwang Lusi emerged victorious, claiming the coveted Monthly Mug title. This was Lusi's first-ever win in this prestigious event.

Lusi's victory was emotional, marking a significant milestone in his golfing career. Previously, he had participated in the competition without securing a title. However, this time around, he played with a newfound determination, inspired by his wife, Tabitha Akoth Ojwang, who won the Mug of Mugs at the same club in 2021.

Tabitha Akoth Ojwang's success at the Nyanza Golf Club is not a recent phenomenon. She has a history of triumphs at the club, including winning the Mug of Mugs last year. Her win in 2021 was matched by Cornila Obare, who finished runner-up with a net score of 70.

In the men's division, Ojwang Lusi scored a net 69 to secure the victory. Tom Agumbi won the men's longest drive, while Lilian Kongani took home the ladies' longest drive award.

Meanwhile, in the junior divisions, Tyrel Ochola secured the boys' title with a score of 65, and Ushuhuda Melody won the junior girls' prize with a net score of 90.

The competition was not limited to the main categories. In Division A, Nishal Shah emerged victorious with a net score of 71, while David Sate finished runner-up with a net score of 73. In Division B, Lilian Kongani clinched the title with a net score of 70, with Samuel Misiani finishing runner-up with a net score of 72. The final division, C, was won by Gurdeep Panesar with a net score of 67, with Daniel Nyerere finishing runner-up with a net score of 69.

This victory at the Nyanza Golf Club marks a new chapter in Ojwang Lusi's golfing career. He attributes his success to the inspiration he received from his wife, Tabitha Akoth Ojwang, and is undoubtedly motivated to continue his winning streak.
