Burberry's A/W 2025 Show: A Blockbuster Fashion Event

Burberry's Autumn/Winter 2025 collection marked the end of London Fashion Week on February 24, 2025, and it was nothing short of a 'blockbuster'. Under the creative direction of Daniel Lee, the storied British fashion house presented a collection inspired by the exquisite, faded interiors and bohemian characters of British stately homes and long rainy walks in the great outdoors.

The beauty team played a significant role in bringing this vision to life. Ama Quashie was responsible for the nail work, while Shiori Takahashi focused on the hair styling, which was a central focus of Burberry's runway beauty offering.

Takahashi used alcohol-based products to create a textured finish and matte wax for added definition in the hair styling. For some models, she created extra-long micro box braids, a process that required a team of three to seven braiders working backstage. Iris Lasnet, daughter of the late British model Stella Tennant, walked the runway for the first time, wearing long golden-blonde hair and a burgundy leather trench coat. In tribute to her mother, Iris wore a septum ring during the show.

Actor Elizabeth McGovern wore her salt and pepper strands in almost damp-looking waves, raked away from her face to mimic gale force conditions. Kirsty Hume closed the show with her bright white blonde hair, parted down the middle and integrated into the styling with a semi-open funnel neckline black leather parka. Takahashi created shorter hair looks based on a Nick Cave reference, with a natural toughness achieved by running fingers through the hair.

The actors were able to make the clothes come alive, as mentioned by Daniel Lee. The cast chimed with the bohemian irreverence of the Burberry A/W 2025 collection. Ammy Drammeh created perfected skin with flushed cheeks for the makeup.

Bureau Betak designed the set, featuring swathes of fabric printed with bucolic oil paintings by British masters. The show took place against this backdrop, further enhancing the collection's aesthetic.

In a memorable moment, Iris Lasnet, the new face of Burberry, walked the runway, carrying the torch of her mother's legacy while forging her own path in the fashion world. The Burberry A/W 2025 show was indeed a testament to the brand's enduring appeal and its ability to adapt and evolve while staying true to its roots.
