Windows Server Workshop: Enhancing Security and Strengthening Integrity on Windows Servers
Registration is now open for a series of workshops on "Securing and Hardening Windows Server" offered by Information Network Engineering (INE). These workshops provide an opportunity for IT professionals to learn efficient and sustainable methods for securing Windows Server systems.
The workshops, led by Fabian Böhm and Florian Bröder, experts in preventive IT security and system hardening, will take place online and on-site. The online workshops will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, while the on-site event in Frankfurt am Main will be held from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on December 1-2, 2025.
The workshops cover a range of topics, including concepts of system hardening, securing Windows Server from scratch, and processor-oriented hardening. They also delve into regulatory requirements and how to integrate protective measures into infrastructure.
Participants will gain hands-on experience through specific case studies and discussions on typical pitfalls in hardening projects. The workshops will also explain the differences between manual and central configuration, and why hardening via group policies/GPOs is often inefficient.
The workshops use the open-source tool AuditTAP to create a hardening Group Policy Object (GPO) based on CIS. They focus on improving security levels and detecting attacks early, particularly in the areas of Active Directory, PKI, and Cloud.
Early bird discounts are available for these workshops. For the online workshops, the early bird discount of 10% is available until October 21, 2025, for the on-site event in Frankfurt am Main, the early bird discount is available until November 2, 2025.
