Winners Announced for Turbo Deep Stack Poker Tournament Held at Diamond's in July
Celebrating the Outcome of the Latest "Turbo Deep Stack" Tournament at the "Diamond" Poker Club
How was it?! Well, we saw a different crowd this time. Only 22 participants showed up instead of the usual 30+. However, there were 19 re-entries, resulting in a total of 41 entries. Despite the half a million overlay, we managed to run the tournament. We hope all the poker enthusiasts had a blast!
Something interesting this time was the appearance of our "regular" guests from Almaty City. Seems like our fame has spread there? It's great to see new faces. We hope they stick around and become a regular part of our poker community.
Regarding the registration period, let's just say it was a mystery. Nazar T. was the first to show up, an hour before the official start at 20:00. He was raring to go. Sultan M., on the other hand, was the last, just 15 minutes before late registration ended, after midnight. The gap between the early bird and the late bloomer was a whopping 6 hours!!! But cliche sayings like "the early bird catches the worm" don't always hold true. Nazar, despite starting well-stacked, didn't make it to the final table's heated battle. Sultan, however, proved the adage "it's never too late" by winning 1st place.
Opinions vary about what caused the knockouts. Sultan, though, passed the doping test before the competition, ensuring he wasn't taking any unfair advantage. But we don't dwell on speculations. The winner takes it all, and we don't curse them!
Let's focus on the Final Table participants and how they claimed their prizes. A total of FIVE prize spots were up for grabs, and we decided to refund the entry fees to three Bubble Boys. The lucky ones were 50K from the first, 25K from the second, and 15K from the third, making a total of 3x30,000 tg. With that out of the way, they fought till the end.
When there were only two players left, each with roughly equal stacks, a deal was proposed. The "olyana" method determined the Champion, who topped the Leaderboard. As you might guess, our new champion is none other than Sultan Meirbekov. Second place goes to Erkin Mirzakhmetyov. And now, the moment you've all been waiting for!!! Founding the TOP-3 is Eldige Bekbasar. Fourth tournament in a row, fourth time in a row. Not only did he make it to the top, but he also snatched the Bronze. A bit of a twist, isn't it?
