Winter commences Sport in the Park series

The winter edition of the popular fitness program will conclude on April 23, 2020, marking the end of a successful run. In response to its success, the decision has been made to expand the program, and it will continue to offer non-binding and free courses at two locations: Rheinpark Golzheim and Citizen's Square at the State Parliament.

Starting every Tuesday at 6:30 PM at Rheinpark Golzheim and Thursday at the same time at Citizen's Square, the sessions will be conducted under qualified guidance. The expansion aims to ensure that training can take place regardless of the weather, with the chosen locations offering the possibility of training under nearby bridges in case of bad weather conditions.

The regular "Sport im Park" season will commence after the winter edition, with the exact locations and sports offers to be published in March. For the initial part of the regular season in March 2020, the training sessions will take place in the Volkspark and Gänsebrink parks in Marl.

The expansion of the program is supported by AOK Rhineland/Hamburg and Original Bootcamp. The courses are designed to be suitable for both untrained individuals and sports enthusiasts of all age groups, lasting approximately one hour. It's worth noting that the offer does not apply on Altweiber (February 20, 2020).

Mayor Burkhard Hintzsche made the statement regarding the expansion of the program, highlighting the importance of providing accessible and inclusive fitness opportunities for the community. The fitness program continues during school holidays and public holidays, ensuring that everyone has the chance to participate.

The winter edition of the fitness program has been expanded to two locations to cater to a larger audience and provide more opportunities for people to stay active during the colder months. This expansion is a testament to the program's popularity and its positive impact on the community. After the conclusion of the winter edition, the regular Sport-im-Park season will begin, offering more opportunities for community members to engage in fitness activities.
