Women's football league title clinched by Bayern with a two-match win over Bayer.

In a highly-anticipated match at the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich kicked off their Bundesliga season with a home win against Bayer Leverkusen. The game, attended by football celebrities such as Uli Hoeneß, Lothar Matthäus, and Bernd Neuendorf, saw a crowd of 57,762 spectators witness an exciting and tense encounter.

The match started with Leverkusen showing promising signs, playing more freely due to the energetic atmosphere. Carlotta Wamser, their new national player signed from Eintracht Frankfurt, initiated their attacks from the right defense. However, it was Bayern Munich who took the lead in the first half, with defender Vanessa Gilles scoring from a corner kick assisted by Klara Bühl.

The first half was a challenging one for Bayern Munich's new coach, José Barcala, who seemed visibly frustrated with his team's performance. In response, he made a substitution at half-time, bringing on Klara Bühl to inject freshness and pace into the game.

The second half saw Bayern Munich step up their game, with Striker Lea Schüller having the best chance for them in the opening minutes but missing the target. The momentum shifted in favour of Bayer Leverkusen, with Ruby Grant having a great opportunity to equalise after 20 minutes, but failing to convert.

Despite Leverkusen's efforts, it was Bayern Munich who extended their lead in the 76th minute, with Vanessa Gilles scoring her second goal of the match. Klara Bühl followed suit just a minute later, securing a comfortable 2-0 victory for the home team.

The game was not without controversy, with Lilla Turanyi of Bayer Leverkusen being denied a penalty for a shirt pull from opponent Magdalena Eriksson in the first half. Kasper Hjulmand, the coach who took over Bayer Leverkusen before the season, watched his team's performance with a mix of pride and disappointment.

The introduction of Pernille Harder into the game by Barcala signalled a potential change in strategy for Bayern Munich, but it was too little, too late for Leverkusen. Giulia Gwinn, Bayern's injured player, expressed her admiration for the crowd's energy, stating that her heart stopped a few times during the first half.

In the end, Bayern Munich's superior play and clinical finishing proved to be the difference, as they secured a strong start to their Bundesliga campaign with a 2-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
