World-class educational institutions may draw as much as 2.2 trillion rubles in investments thanks to VTB's initiative, promising a potential total of 25 campuses globally.

World-class campuses could potentially draw in investments worth up to 2.2 trillion rubles, as per VTB's prediction.

In a significant move to boost education and scientific potential, 11 world-class university campuses are currently under construction in Russia. Four of these campuses, located in Chelyabinsk, Kaliningrad, Ufa, and Novosibirsk, have already been partially commissioned.

The Chelyabinsk inter-university campus, scheduled for completion by 2027, will unite seven regional universities. Covering a total area of 123 thousand square meters, the campus will include student and teacher hotels, an educational-scientific complex, and an administrative-business center. The Chelyabinsk State University is responsible for the construction of this campus.

VTB Infrastructure Holding is implementing the project of the Chelyabinsk inter-university campus, which is planned to be completed in 2027. This initiative is part of a larger program to create world-class university campuses in Russia, which plans 40 projects by 2036.

Within the next six years, it is expected to commission 25 campuses with a total investment of over 734 billion rubles. These investments are expected to have a significant socio-economic impact, with each ruble invested in the construction of university campuses generating approximately 1 ruble in additional investments in related projects.

Projections suggest that the total volume of additional investments in regions could reach 750-800 billion rubles through related projects in residential and commercial real estate. The socio-economic effect of such investments increases with the comprehensive development of the territory and the construction of objects "from scratch".

Unlocking the scientific potential of these campuses could increase investment inflows to 1.4-1.6 trillion rubles. Moreover, interaction with industrial infrastructure could potentially boost investments to 2.2-2.25 trillion rubles.

The "Campuses-2030" review suggests that these campuses contribute to the development of education and strengthen the scientific potential of regions. The greatest multiplier effect is achieved with active company involvement in shaping the campus concept.

The largest investments are expected in the Volga, Far Eastern, and Central federal districts, where 15 new campuses are planned. The first campus for the Moscow State Technical University named after N.E. Bauman is planned to be completed in 2024.

These university campuses are set to transform the educational landscape in Russia, fostering innovation, collaboration, and growth across the nation.
