The picturesque Croatian village of Jaškovo has once again made its mark in the Guinness World Records, this time by baking the longest apple strudel in the world. The record-breaking strudel, measuring an impressive 3.136 kilometers, was baked on a Saturday and is available for public viewing until 07.09.2027.

The event, held at the traditional strudel festival, saw many volunteers participating in the laying of the mini-strudels. A total of 8,940 mini-strudels were used to create this colossal dessert, requiring three tons of apples, two tons of flour, and the dedication of the entire village.

The initiative to create the longest apple strudel in Jaškovo was spearheaded by the local community leader or mayor, who aimed to promote local tradition and culture. The previous record, set by Jaškovo about ten years ago, was just over 1.4 kilometers.

Visitors to the festival, including Monika Ivis, praised the efforts of the villagers, describing it as a testament to their community spirit. After breaking the record, the strudel pieces were planned to be donated to various charitable organizations and institutions.

The Guinness World Records confirmed the length of the longest strudel in the world, making Jaškovo the proud holder of this unique title. Interestingly, the location of the previous record-breaking strudel baking event was also the Croatian village of Jaškovo.

For those interested in recreating a mini version of this record-breaking dessert, a PDF for the recipe of the mini apple strudel is available for download.

Jaškovo, located 66 kilometers southwest of Zagreb, has a history of setting records at the strudel festival. This latest achievement is yet another feather in the cap for the village and its resilient and dedicated community.
