The international community is taking strides towards a sustainable future with the promotion of the global energy transition. While there is no single published directive exclusively for supporting projects on global energy reskilling and a just energy transition, relevant EU and German programs do exist.

One such initiative is the Energy Transition Dialogue, a forum for discussions and collaborations on global energy transition matters. This dialogue is likely to play a significant role in facilitating the global energy transition, with a focus on the Paris climate goals and the aim to achieve these goals and global energy targets more swiftly.

The funding for these projects can reach up to 50,000 €, with exceptions possible in justified individual cases. However, it's important to note that expenditures for evaluations are not eligible for funding, and the application submission deadline is at least two months before the planned project start.

Projects related to the energy transition must incorporate aspects of gender equality as part of their planning and execution. This is in line with the objective of the energy transition, which is not only to address climate change and energy security issues but also to promote a just energy transformation and enhance energy security by increasing independence from fossil fuels.

The funding does not have geographical restrictions, but regional priorities must be set due to limited budget. This means that while projects from any part of the world can apply, the funding will be allocated based on the priorities set by the organisers.

It's also worth noting that funding can only be provided on an expenditure basis, and applicants must provide their own and third-party funds. The approval period for funding is up to 2 years.
