The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has officially announced its schedule for the 56th annual edition, to be held from May 27 to July 16, 2025, at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas casinos. The flagship Main Event is set to commence on July 2.
Although the full schedule will not be fully disclosed until early 2024, we do know that the legendary $10,000 buy-in Main Event will kick off on July 2, with the final table slated for July 15-16 at the Horseshoe Events Center. The 2024 WSOP witnessed a record-breaking 229,553 entrants and over $438 million in prize money awarded, with last year's champion, Jonathan Tamayo, securing the most prestigious gold bracelet and a $10 million prize.
Some popular fan favorite events, such as Mystery Millions, Millionaire Maker, and the Senior’s Championship, are set to make a return, along with new, intriguing tournament formats. The WSOP intends to refine its offering further for 2025, promising the biggest poker events globally, intense competition, and the ultimate poker experience.
The Battle of the Ages, T.O.R.S.E., and the $100,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller are among the innovation-focused events for the upcoming WSOP. The Battle of the Ages is a No-Limit Hold’em tournament with two flights, divided according to age – one for those 50 and above and another for players under 50. T.O.R.S.E. is a mixed game format that replaces Limit Hold’em with Triple Draw Lowball during the rotation. Meanwhile, the $100,000 PLO High Roller is expected to attract high-stakes specialists.
Six new events have been introduced, while there has been a slight decrease in freezeout formats to cater to different tournament styles. Well-loved events, including the Main Event, No-Limit Hold’em tournaments, Omaha games, mixed games, HORSE, and bounty tournaments, will also be present on the schedule.
Players of all levels are welcome, with buy-ins ranging from $300 to the new $100,000 PLO event. Satellites for qualifying online will begin in January, exclusively on GGPoker, allowing players to secure a spot for the grand live show.
