Yakutia set to ink deals valued at 70 billion rubles at WEF-2025 conference
The Eastern Economic Forum, celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, is set to be a significant event for the regions of the Far East, particularly the Sakha Republic. The Head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, announced during a program on the "Russia 24" channel that several important agreements will be signed at the forum, with around 20 agreements in total.
Nikolaev stated that the forum opens up opportunities for the regions, attracting not only investments but also facilitating meetings, implementing plans, and finding new partners. Many regional representatives, including large companies, both domestic and foreign, are expected to attend.
Despite the ongoing sanctions, it appears that these companies are ready to work with Russia. The total investment volume of the agreements is approximately 70 billion rubles, according to Nikolaev's announcement. However, the specific names of companies or organisations signing contracts with the Sakha Republic at this year's Eastern Economic Forum have not been publicly disclosed.
The Eastern Economic Forum is the main forum for the Far East, and it has proven to be a catalyst for growth in the region. Over the past 10 years, the republic has signed agreements worth over 1 trillion rubles, with projects such as the new educational and laboratory building of the Small Academy of Sciences, the wind-diesel power complex in Tiksi, and the year-round greenhouse complex "Sayuri" being implemented in the republic due to agreements signed at the forum.
The republic is open for negotiations and creating conditions for investors. The forum is not just about attracting investments but also about fostering partnerships and collaborations that can benefit the region in the long term. For the Sakha Republic, the Eastern Economic Forum is a platform to showcase its potential and attract investments that can drive its economic growth and development.
